CLASSEN receives Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver for CERAMIN

Published onDecember 12, 2025
Kaisersesch, December 4, 2025 – The CLASSEN has CERAMIN Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver certification for its innovative, PVC-free CERAMIN material technology. CERAMIN on polypropylene (PP) and is therefore a particularly resource-efficient and fully recyclable alternative to conventional PVC floor coverings. After intensive preparation and extensive data collection, the certificate was officially confirmed on December 3, 2025.

Last year, CERAMIN received Cradle to Cradle Material Health CERAMIN —a first milestone that marked the start of the demanding C2C assessment process. Since full scope certification considers all dimensions of sustainability and sets significantly more comprehensive requirements, the CLASSEN has built up the process step by step. With the Full Scope Silver Level according to Version 4.0 now achieved, the company is consistently continuing on this development path and CERAMIN the comprehensive recyclability and ecological performance of CERAMIN .

The certificate confirms compliance with the criteria of the Cradle to Cradle standard in the areas of material health, recyclability, renewable energies, social responsibility, and water management. The audit was carried out by EPEA GmbH – Part of Drees & Sommer, which comprehensively evaluated the product portfolio. The certification is valid until February 2028.

Sebastian Wendel, Head of Sustainability at CLASSEN, explains:

"Our take-back and recycling concepts were a key factor in our successful Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver certification. They enable us to return PP-based CERAMIN to the material cycle at the end of their life cycle. I am particularly pleased that we have already been able to implement these concepts not only in the DACH region, but also in the USA with partners. In this way, we are laying the foundation for a genuine circular economy across market boundaries."

The CLASSEN is convinced that recycling does not necessarily mean that CERAMIN must be processed CERAMIN into new CERAMIN. The technology has been consistently developed in line with the "design for recycling" principle and enables the production of high-quality secondary PP raw materials that can be used in a wide range of applications. CERAMIN thus makes CERAMIN important contribution to improving material cycles – far beyond its own product range.
