Kaisersesch, November 28, 2024 – The CLASSEN has received the coveted Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label for CERAMIN®. This award recognizes CERAMIN one of the most efficient and sustainable solutions for the construction and renovation industry.
CERAMIN a completely PVC-free floor covering made from recycled and recyclable polypropylene (PP). The use of harmless raw materials and energy-efficient production reduce its ecological footprint. The CLASSEN CERAMIN producing CERAMIN in Germany for over ten years and has continuously promoted environmentally friendly innovations in the flooring industry. In addition to Cradle to Cradle certification, CERAMIN has CERAMIN environmental and quality certificates such as the "Blue Angel" eco-label.
Baruth, October 10, 2023 – On September 30, 2023, the fire department in the district of Teltow-Fläming conducted a successful emergency drill at the local industrial company Fiberboard GmbH, with the keyword "large-scale hazardous materials." Fiberboard GmbH, which belongs to CLASSEN and produces high-quality HDF/MDF for laminate flooring, together with its sister company CLASSEN GmbH, forms the world's largest laminate flooring site with an impressive capacity of over 80 million square meters. These conditions provided ideal training conditions not only for the local fire department, but also for the hazardous materials unit of the Teltow-Fläming district, as well as the rescue service and aid organizations, to train for extraordinary hazardous situations and prepare for such scenarios.
The preparation and organization of this important exercise was carried out by the fire and disaster control department of the Teltow-Fläming district in close cooperation with Fiberboard GmbH, which enabled a realistic training session for the emergency services. The exercise went smoothly and provided the participants with valuable experience and insights to enable them to act in the best possible way in an emergency.

Both the district employees and the emergency services from the fire department, rescue services, and aid organizations were extremely satisfied with the preparation and support, which enabled them to train effectively and safely. Fiberboard GmbH, together with the adjacent laminate production facility (CLASSEN GmbH), provided the perfect environment for this exercise.

"We learned a lot from this exercise and are grateful for the opportunity to practice in a realistic scenario. This training strengthens our skills and our confidence in our operational readiness," commented Silvio Kahle, district fire chief of the Teltow-Fläming district.

The experience and insights gained by both the fire department and the organizers will be evaluated next week. This analysis will help to further improve procedures and responses, thereby ensuring the safety of the population in the Teltow-Fläming district.

The "major hazardous materials" exercise underscores the importance of continuous training and preparation in order to be able to respond appropriately to potentially dangerous situations. Fiberboard GmbH and the CLASSEN will continue to fulfill their responsibilities in the future and will continue to do everything in their power to ensure the safety of the community.
