Kaisersesch, November 28, 2024 – The CLASSEN has received the coveted Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label for CERAMIN®. This award recognizes CERAMIN one of the most efficient and sustainable solutions for the construction and renovation industry.
CERAMIN a completely PVC-free floor covering made from recycled and recyclable polypropylene (PP). The use of harmless raw materials and energy-efficient production reduce its ecological footprint. The CLASSEN CERAMIN producing CERAMIN in Germany for over ten years and has continuously promoted environmentally friendly innovations in the flooring industry. In addition to Cradle to Cradle certification, CERAMIN has CERAMIN environmental and quality certificates such as the "Blue Angel" eco-label.
Baruth/Mark, March 13, 2024 – The CLASSEN and the naturwind Group recently announced their collaboration on the planning of a new wind farm in the forest north of Mückendorf. The project aims to generate clean energy for regional industry and residents, thereby making an important contribution to the energy transition in Brandenburg.
The wind farm, which is to be built in cooperation between the Classen and naturwind, is a significant step towards environmentally friendly energy supply. With up to 32 wind turbines, naturwind plans to use the electricity produced regionally to supply industry and residents in Baruth/Mark. All of the electricity generated will remain in the region to boost the local economy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

As an important industrial partner in the wind farm project, the Classen will primarily use the electricity generated to supply its laminate and fiberboard plant in Baruth/Mark. The aim is to cover 65 to 75 percent of the electricity demand from renewable sources. In addition, CLASSEN plans CLASSEN its photovoltaic systems in order to further increase renewable energy production. Thanks to its own energy systems, the CLASSEN already completely dispenses with fossil fuels at its production site in Baruth/Mark.

The project will also benefit from waste heat from the Classen production, which will be used in the future to supply the neighboring towns of Baruth and Mückendorf with green heat. By installing a large heat pump, which will be powered by electricity from the wind farm, the waste heat will be raised to the required temperature level and distributed via a local heating network.

"As a company committed to sustainability and environmental protection, we are delighted about the partnership with naturwind and the opportunity to work together on this groundbreaking project for regional energy supply," explains André Hennig, Managing Director of Fiberboard GmbH (a CLASSEN company). "The planned wind farm will not only supply clean energy, but also offer innovative solutions for the use of waste heat and green hydrogen."

The next steps include nature conservation studies, parallel planning of the heating network, and negotiation of an urban development contract to implement all aspects of the project in a timely manner. The CLASSEN and naturwind are determined to work with local authorities and stakeholders to create a sustainable energy supply for the region.

The construction of the wind farm and the implementation of further infrastructure measures will be carried out in close coordination with local authorities and stakeholders. The partners are confident that the project represents a significant step toward a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy supply.
